Yesterday we went to see a real meteorite.  Here is a photo of me standing on it.

Today we went to a school and it was a preschool.  When we got in the gate all the pre-schoolers stood in a line and then they started singing a welcome song and I can’t really remember it but it went a bit like: “We LOVE you, we love you, welcome, welcome, welcome.

And then we went inside the classroom.  It was a little bit small though.  They had their own desk but they sat on the floor when they weren’t writing in their book or they weren’t reading by themselves.

Then Stan started reading a book and then I read the rest of the book then Sarah read a book.  After that the kids took us out to play.  Stan played football with the boys and the girls took me and Sarah to go on the jungle gym.  Then two girls found two skipping ropes and we started skipping and then we did the limbo.  Then it was time to leave and Phoebe got on my back and gave the kids high fives.

Today when I woke up I was really excited because today we are going sand boarding and the car ride was really bumpy and there was a dog that was called Zak he was really cute.  When we got there I had to wear these really big shoes that were worse than Justin Beder’s shoes they were so BIG!!

Then I got my sand board and then we had to start climbing the sand dune which took a really long time and my legs really started to hurt because I also had to carry my sand board up the sand dune.  Next we had to learn how to wax our board.  I had to wax my board so that when we slid down the sand dune we move instead of staying still.

Step one you get a bit of wax in your hand.
Step two rub all the wax from your hand on the board.
Step three rub sand on the board.

And that’s how you wax the board.  Then a man called Jay helped us go down a little sand dune and then we got the hang of it.  Then we could go down on our own and then we went down bigger sand dunes.  Then I got to go lying down sand boarding which was also fun.  When it was over we went back down we got to have some lunch and soft drink and Zak tried jumping up and getting everybody’s food.  But he didn’t get my food though.

This morning when I woke up I was in a camping ground and later on in the day I will be going to this place called the giant play ground.  I thought that it would have like slides and swings and see saws but there wasn't any of that stuff there was just lots and lots of rocks.

Funny looking rocks like some were on top of each other.  I even climbed one of them.

Then dad phoebe and I found these types of animals that are mostly related to the Elephant and they are called Dassies. They were so cute!  I saw these little baby ones that were so cute and they were so much smaller than the others!!

Then today I had to get up at 5:00AM to go to the sand dunes, the biggest and oldest sand dunes in the world.  I got to walk on one of the biggest ones and actually it was the biggest one.  My favourite part was going down.  It was really fun because it was quite steep and it felt like I was flying and when I got to the bottom of the sand dune then I looked at the top it was a long way away.

A few nights ago I arrived at a camping ground and it was quite late at night and then when we woke up in the morning it was nice and warm because we were in the desert.  Then we had breakfast and then the hottest part of the day came and that was in the middle of 10:00AM to 2:00PM which was really hot, I even got a sunburn.

TABLE TOP MOUNTAIN!

Today my family and I went to TABLE TOP MOUNTAIN and to get up there we had to go up an AERIAL CABLEWAY, which was fun.  At the top was an awesome view.  Well it was an awesome view just until the clouds came because we were up higher than the clouds but the clouds still looked cool too.

We got our photos taken and then the people put our photos on a thing that has lots of information on it about TABLE TOP MOUNTAIN!

Also the thing says about the animals on the mountain and on them is about the dassie: Although it resembles a small rabbit the dassie is actually more closely related to the elephant!  Their evolutionary relationship is based on similarities in their feet and teeth.  They also have built in sunglasses which allow them to look directly at the sun to help escape from hawks and eagles.

Today we went into town and we went to a really fun playground and then we went on a ferris wheel, which was really called the Cape Wheel.  When it was my families turn to go on it we went on and we were next to the VIP one that had a TV in it (by the way they were roofed ones) and the people that got to go on it got champagne.  I wanted to go on that one!

Last night we finally made it to Addo Elephant National Park. We got here in the night because the road was closed and we had to go another way.  Well at least we made it here.

Today we went for a drive in the park.  First we saw some zebras they were boring and they had lots of stripes all over them.  Then we saw an elephant.  It was so big and it was AWESOME.  Then we saw a Kudu they’re a type of deer.

Picture
Then we went for a picnic and when we did there were lots of monkeys that wanted our food so they all came at us.  They were really scary.  I was sitting on a seat and a monkey jumped right next to me.  I screamed then I fell on the ground and grazed my knee.  It hurt lots.  Then I looked at the monkey and it put its hands in the air.  It was funny as.

When we were in the car my daddy said, “Why did the dung beetle cross the road” and I said, “to get to the dump”.  My dad said it was the funniest joke in a long time.

Today I woke up at Mountain Zebra National Park.  Later on in the day we will be going to ADDO ELEPHANT NATIONAL PARK!!

Last night a man called Michael took us on a night tour.  It started at 6 o’clock and it finished at 8 o’clock and Michael told us some really interesting facts and one of them was that ostriches sleep with one eye open and we saw lots of interesting animals like little jackals that looked so cute.  Farmers don’t like them because they eat their sheep.  Up to 40 sheep in one night.  They make a sound a bit like meow.

I wish I could go back to Wellington and get some New Zealand milk because the African milk doesn’t taste to nice.
