Today we went on a river cruise and saw baby crocodiles and king fishers and coucals.  We went to a swimming hole and a village.  We saw fish eagles and hamerkop nests.  There were fish and lizards and at the end we saw a rock monitor.  It’s a type of lizard about two meters long.

And Muffin the gecko got out of the car finally.  Muffin is a gecko I caught and released and found him and he crawled on my back.  I didn’t see him until two weeks later (he travelled in the car from Namibia to Victoria Falls to Botswana).  Now he is the campsite mosquito spray !

Stan - how did you come up with the name Muffin? You didn't mix him up with your afternoon tea did you? Maybe he'll find his way back to NZ with you. Customs would love that!

Lots of love. We miss you all. Love Eve & Paul. xxx

Dear Eve and Paul

Muffin was the first name that came to mind. We released him at the lodge where we are at right now. Hopefully he is living happily with the other lizards. However he is not the first lizard to be relocated to Okavango River Lodge. The skink we called pineapple juice also came in the car - another name that came to mind. Have a nice day. Stan

Hi Matt

Theres not much rugby here apart from South Africa. Dad misses watching rugby on your couch.

There's not many mountains to go biking on, but I am pretty sure people don't mind. They have bikes.

Stan keep enjoying warm weather NZ has just come out of a really big storm, biggest in Wgtn since Wahine storm. Some ski fields in South Island got 3m of snow in 3 days

Trees are down every where all over Wgtn

One trampoline in Mt Vic ended 20 feet up a tree.

Enjoy Durban

Hi Stan, Pop and I loved your report from Maun. I was hoping you would get to BOTSWANA as I have read so much about that country, in fact I have read every single Alexander McAll_ Smith book including of course all the Botswana ones.

What is the name of that huge bird with all the white feathers?

We miss you all so much But at the same time we are so happy that you are following your dream. Enjoy every moment these are such precious times.

Love to all xxxxxx
