We are in a desert with lots of lizards, even saw a snake at our campsite.  At our other campsite we met a Dutch family and Axel my friend has a sling shot too and we like shooting targets with the 8 different types of ammunition.  Shotgun, main, destroyer, large shotgun, poppers, dirt bomb, piercer and warning shot for scorpions.

We climbed some dunes and slid back down them.  We went four wheel driving and got to a place with lizards and small mice things.  On our way back we saw some wild springbok, gemsbok and ostriches.

Then I went in the field and played with Axel with our slingshots and went back to his place and lit a fire.

Hey Stan. My goodness your adventure is amazing. How cool that you found a friend. Bet you boys had a bit of fun together. The landscape looks soooooooo big and amazing colours. We are loving seeing the photos and reading your stories.

I have been in Auckland for a week playing hockey against Australia. I was the captain and my team and we won our series of 3 games which meant we won Gold. It was very exciting.

I am going to read some more of your stories now.
Hi to everyone.

Wow Stan,
Those sand dunes!! What a time you are having.
Did you celebrate Mothers Day today? Ardy and Ruthie & John came over here for lunch, and we all sent verbal "Happy Mothers Day" greetings to your mum just in case, and we had a good old chat about your adventures, all the animals, plants, and the people you are meeting from other countries as well as local people. I bet your Dutch friend speaks English.

On the move here, Paddy is off to Sydney on Wed. Mike to Hamilton island also on Wed. to do a cabling job, and of course Sandy is in Rarotonga. They are all enjoying your stories. So are Denali and Oden. Emm said Denali is particularly interested in the guns and slingshots.

Biggest hugs to all, Nana.xxxxxx

Hey Stan,

Sorry it's taken so long for us to get in touch. I've just been looking through all your photos and reading about your travels. What an adventure. It looks and sounds like you are in bird heaven! Your photos are spectacular. I can only imagine the models you'll be making when you get home. I think they'll be even more exotic than the gorgeous bird you gave us for Christmas. He's perched on my drawers and I see him each day and think of all the adventures you'll be having. Have fun! Lots of love to you. xxx eve & paul

Hi Stan
You look like you're having fun! Troy and I also visited these sand dunes. Amazing colours aren't they. We also went sandboarding (and I ended up going too fast and doing a headstand at the end!).

Hi Stan!

We've been totally captivated by all of your pictures and great descriptions of your travels! Simply magic! It's just as interesting as David Attenborough's programmes as far as we're concerned; better really, because YOU'RE in the pictures and telling us all about them. It's sort of weird and exciting to see you in such different settings. Can't believe you're so far away!

Tell the girls I'll write a bit to them, soon. Still looking through all their fab pics and stories.

Please say Happy Birthday to your darling mother and much love, hugs & kisses to her, and to your Dad and the girls....and you can have as many as you like tooooo!!

C
- and of course a huge Hi! & love from Alistair, who keeps looking in the pictures for a ukulele!

BTW, you have just GOT to look out for someone playing an African banjo for me and take a photo. If you love rock music, country, blues, jazz, etc., then you gotta know that way back, it came out of banjo music. :)
