Painted Dogs, Machaba

I have seen wild dogs.  They are very rare.  Mum spotted the ones we saw.

They have many other names.  Those names are: painted dog, painted wolf, cape hunting dog and African wild dog.  Wild dogs eat meat.

Their footprints are like this and its 8cm long.

They can run up to 66 km/h.  They travel for food without stopping.

Hi Sarah!

We're all learning such a lot of stuff from reading about your travels!

Victoria Falls look especially impressive and I think it was the best idea ever to see them from a jolly helicopter. Awesome!

The leopard photos are just beautiful. It's wonderful that you've actually seen these amazing animals in real life, in their own country! Wow!
I think the wee baby crocodile looks soooh cute. What a little treasure. How come baby crocodiles can look so sweet, yet grow into such very big, fearsome monsters? LOL!

Love & Happies from all of us back in NZ :)

Hi Sarah
You have done so many things and had soooooooo much fun, it is awesome. Just as well you are writing a blog. It will help you remember everything.

Was it really really loud at Victoria Falls. They are huge. There must have been water everywhere.

Tell Mum and Dad that there are two houses for sale on Scarborough Tce. One is Peter and Jackie's (the purple one across the road from your house) and James's which is across the road from our house. Hope someone with kids buys them so you can have some new friends.

I wonder why the wild dog has such big ears. Do you think it helps it to hear better so that it can hunt and also know when danger is coming. It doesn't look very big but that is a big footprint.

We are all good here but we do miss you.
Lots of love
Di
