The Village

We went past a village.

There were lots of people. There were people playing all kinds of games.

The houses in the villages have straw roofs and straw walls and they don't have glass windows.

We bought some soft drinks from the village and we met the chief of the village.

Someone else was cooking something like bread. I saw a lady with a teapot on her head.

Today we had a coconut. It was yummy. We drank it and ate it.

I went snorkeling, it was fun. I went in the ocean with dad.

There was big fish and small fish and lots of other funny fish. Some had long fins. Some had short fins. Some had funny stripes. Some were shiny and some weren't.

In Africa you can see lots of stars.

But you cannot see the sun at night.

And did you know the sun is a star? And Saturn is a planet and has 62 moons?

The sun is very, very, very, very, very, very, very, VERY HOT!

Life is for Living - the Dutch Family

In Africa I met some people. They were Dutch so we call them the Dutch family.

Their names are; dad - Pieter, mum - Nathalie, and then the three boys, Axel (12), Camile (9) and then Sweder (5)

They are driving around the same countries in Africa, for the same 4 months in the same Landrover Defender, except theirs is green. It has a sign saying "life is for living".

They might be coming to New Zealand one day !!!
